Jessica Ross is a native of Chatom, a dedicated community leader, and a common sense conservative Republican running to serve the people of Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington Counties. She was raised in a close-knit family of small business owners, teachers, and public servants that believed in having a strong work ethic, professionalism, and integrity, and taught her the same family values she lives by today—faith, family, and community service.

For over 20 years, Jessica has served as Director of the Washington County Public Library, which serves as a community hub for workforce development, technology, adult education, and Veterans through the library’s Career Readiness & Small Business Development Center, while also maintaining its traditional role as a family-friendly resource for all ages. 

Jessica holds a PhD in Communication from the University of Alabama, where she is an adjunct instructor, and has concentrated her research on rural community infrastructure and sustainability. She has volunteered on many community service boards and committees throughout the area. Her dedication to community also extends to her service with the Clarke-Washington Electric Membership Co-op and The David Mathews Center for Civic Life, where she promotes civic engagement and community development across Alabama.​

Married to her high school sweetheart for over 22 years, Jessica and husband, Spencer, share a love for music and the outdoors. “Aunt Jess” to many nieces, nephews, and children in the community, Jessica wants to ensure that children have great schools, quality job opportunities, and “something to move home for” in our small towns and communities. Jessica Ross is committed to making our communities and our state the best place to live, work, and succeed for everyone who calls District 65 their home.
